How often should I clean my face each day?
People with acne tend to wash too often because they feel their skin is dirty. Remove dirt and sebum the evening before going to bed with a mild cleansing product that suits your skin type. In the morning, clear water is sufficient. Avoid heavy scrubbing and aggressive cleansers – both can make your skin look worse and make it look redder and flakier.

Do I need to use a toner or astringent for acne?
In acne the skin is often very oily. Then a toner or astringent with salicylic acid applied twice a day can do a lot. The application draws out excess oil that can clog pores and is gentle on all skin types.
Do face masks really help against acne?
All types of cleansing masks with anti-acne ingredients such as activated carbon, acids or clay can help to refine the skin’s appearance. Alumina or activated charcoal, for example, combat blackheads and sebum and can thus prevent acne outbreaks.

What helps against extremely severe acne?
Tablets with the active ingredient isotretinoin, marketed under the name Accutane, among others, can help. They are mainly prescribed when there is a high risk of acne scars. How do I treat acne during pregnancy?
Some acne products, prescription or not, should then be suspended. These include products containing salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide or retinol. Okay are for example care products with azelaic acid or glycolic acid.
