1. super-sugar: sweetness from the monk’s fruit

A healthy sugar substitute can be produced from the monk fruit, also called Luo Han Guo, which originates from China. The fruit is 300 times sweeter than commercial sugar, but at the same time has no calories. Unlike sugar, it does not cause insulin secretion, making it ideal for diabetics.

Due to the neutral sweetness without an unpleasant aftertaste, monk sugar is ideal for sweetening baked goods, tea and coffee. You can buy the whole fruit in Asia shops, while monk sugar can only be ordered online in certain shops.

2nd Nutella fruit: black sapote

Attention, sweet tooth: This fruit, native to Latin America, tastes like chocolate. The dark brown fruit flesh can be spooned out straight or enjoyed as a Nutella alternative as a spread. It is also a real vitamin bomb, rich in calcium, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium and vitamins C, B1, B2 and E.

Hemp oil, better said CBD -oil (CBD stands for cannabidiol) is produced from the cannabis plant. From now on, baking will be done with gluten-free flours, for example from sweet potatoes.

The special flours not only score points with a high proportion of protein and fibre, they also contain few carbohydrates and are gluten-free. Simple cereal flour can be easily replaced by the healthy alternatives. The range of wheat-free flours will grow significantly in 2019.
