Minerals, vitamins, antioxidants, fibre – it is not for nothing that fruit is considered a healthy supplier of all important nutrients. Especially in summer, when most varieties are in season, we cannot get enough of the sweet fruits.
But be careful, because some types of fruit contain a lot of sugar and therefore also calories. So that the next fruit gourmet meal does not degenerate in terms of calories, you should pay attention to what kind of fruit you eat.
These 10 foods you should always have in the house
Which fruit at least has calories?
Due to the high fibre and water content, most fruit naturally contains few calories. But there are significant differences. While a banana contains 95 calories per 100 grams, an apple contains only 54 calories.
In addition, the banana contains almost double the amount of carbohydrates, a whole 21 grams. It is therefore not suitable for low carb. Not only does the apple contain fewer calories and carbohydrates, it also takes longer to eat, which makes it all the more filling.
Which fruit has little sugar?
If you want to eat not only low-calorie but also low-carb foods, strawberries, blueberries, currants and raspberries, watermelon and citrus fruits such as orange or grapefruit are also suitable. Grapes, figs and mango, on the other hand, are better left alone.

Tip: Even though dried fruits, for example dried apricots, are a tasty and quick snack for in between, you should not eat too much of them. This is because dried fruit contains less water and more calories. While 100 grams of fresh apricots contain only 42 calories, dried apricots contain no less than 250 calories per 100 grams. Before you know it, with a few simple steps you will have consumed more calories than you imagine.
